Patient’s Consent for Medical Procedures

In its January 2015 newsletter the State Claims Agency published an article on what information should be discussed by a doctor with a patient in order to get the patient’s full consent to a medical procedure. The article is from a doctor’s perspective analyzing the “PARQ” acronomyn. PARQ stands for “procedure” (what it entails), “alternatives” (including nothing), “risks” (of the procedure and the alternatives) and “questions” (invite the patient to ask questions).
